NLT Technologies Expands Mid-Size Offerings for Industrial Display Applications with New 15.6-inch and 19.0-inch LCD Modules

KAWASAKI, JAPAN, SANTA CLARA, Calif., DUSSELDORF, Germany, May 15, 2013 -- NLT Technologies (NLT), together with its sales and marketing channels in the Americas and Europe, Renesas Electronics America, Inc. and Renesas Electronics Europe GmbH, today introduced two new amorphous-silicon thin-film-transistor (TFT) liquid crystal display (LCD) modules, a 15.6-inch (39.6 centimeters diagonal) model and a 19.0-inch (48 centimeters diagonal) model, both incorporate white LED backlights for use in industrial display applications.
The new modules offer superior product features and reliability due to a combination of the company’s distinguished LCD panel technology and white LED backlight system. The LED backlight system also contributes to a lower environmental impact, due to the design for low power consumption and because LED is mercury free.
The new products are planned for release in August 2013.

The new product has a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, WXGA format, and achieves a fast response time to allow smooth display of video images and ”tickers” image on a POS and ATM.

NLT’s PCAP touch panels offer valuable component and structural options such as bonding, surface treatment, or cover glass. This allows end product designers greater flexibility and more display options depending on the end use of the display. - Reliable performance
The LED backlight system delivers both long-life span and high luminance. Moreover, by improving the LCD panel component and design, it achieves a wide operating temperature range from -20 to +70 degrees Celsius. This guarantees stable, long-term operation even in the extreme temperature conditions required for industrial applications.
Recently, the need for LCDs with wide format is increasing among industrial equipment market as the computer system software of or broadcasting adopt wide format. The new 15.6-inch WXGA module has been developed to meet this demand and to enhance NLT’s wide format display lineup.
Meanwhile, there is still strong demand for conventional aspect ratio such as 4:3 or 5:4 for use in a wide variety of medical equipment and industrial equipment applications. The new 19.0-inch SXGA module with 5:4 aspect ratio has been developed to help meet these demands.
The new LCD modules will be showcased in Renesas Electronics America and NLT Technologies’ booth (#301) at Display Week 2013, May 21-23, at the Vancouver convention center in Canada.
